Introducing Youth Off The Streets (YOTS) - a not-for-profit organisation, providing services and programs to help disadvantaged youngsters build a positive future.
The background
As part of the support offered, YOTS operates a special assistance school in the Illawarra region, to provide high school education to young people who had disengaged from mainstream schooling due to significant challenges.
To guarantee the program’s success, YOTS needed to consider long-term expansion opportunities and ensure their premises would suit these needs.
The challenge
YOTS required expert assistance in assessing property options, as well as representation in strategising and negotiating leasing terms to ensure the school’s sustainable growth and enable it to continue its good work in the community.
The solution
Spillane Property Consulting took on the project pro bono, driven by our commitment to support impactful initiatives. Director Matt Spillane collaborated closely with the YOTS team to implement a strategic approach to their leasing negotiations.
Efforts included:
Engaging with local agents and conducting a thorough analysis of existing site options suitable for the school's expansion.
Developing a tailored strategy to meet YOTS's long-term goals.
Negotiating favourable leasing terms to secure the most appropriate premises.
The results
The collaborative effort led to a successful leasing outcome that aligned with YOTS’s expansion strategy. This ensured the continuity and growth of their special assistance school, contributing to the sustained support of disadvantaged youth in the Illawarra region.
To conclude
Spillane Property Consulting is proud to have played a role in supporting Youth Off The Streets through expert leasing negotiations, reinforcing our commitment to community-focused initiatives and ensuring the lasting impact of their educational programs.
We extend our gratitude to YOTS CEO Judy Barraclough, COO Fiona Campbell, and legal consultant Andrew Cork for their invaluable collaboration. Their dedication and insight were crucial in achieving outcomes that guarantee the long-term success of the school.
